EmDeRo was founded by Lee Bennett, III, a graduate of Howard Universities School of Fine Arts. Unofficially established circa 2000, EmDeRo (formerly known as Focus Designs) was established as a way to stay in touch with his artistic passion(s). Because life didn't always afford him the opportunity to do graphic/web design as a full time job, Mr. Bennett started providing services for himself, friends and local artists. His goal was simple: to provide competent creative solutions at prices that are fair for the designer and the client. He still adheres to this philosophy whenever he accepts a creative challenge from a client.

In early 2006, life began to change and lead Mr. Bennett to look for employment outside of the computer and design industry. Many opportunities presented themselves, but the opportunity to learn the mortgage industry proved to be the most intriguing. It was this challenge of learning something new that prompted him to step away from what he had originally been educated to do. As it had been with his graphic experience, the mortgage industry proved to be a trial by fire learning experience.

Finding highly knowledgeable and well-seasoned veterans of the mortgage and insurance industries to mentor him, Mr. Bennett has become a part of various teams that pushes the individuals towards excellence. Although he has learned a great deal while in the industry, Mr. Bennett is not afraid to acknowledge that he stills calls upon the wisdom and knowledge of his mentors from time to time, to enable him to better serve his clients. Along with continuing education, team training, webinars and various other means of training, Mr. Bennett tries to ensure that he remains current on what the trends are and will be.

Although he had been in the financial industry for a time, he had never stopped utilizing his personal time to continue his connection with the creative arts in its various forms. His childhood passion for creating ever present, Mr. Bennett again found himself calling upon his experience to provide graphic, web and consultation services during his spare time. When asked what he did for a living, Mr. Bennett found himself handing out two different business cards and writing additional information on the back which detailed his other pursuits. It Soon became apparent that an online presence for both of his growing brands needed a place to call home.

EmDeRo developed a multi- pronged approach which primarily provided Financial Services in addition to the Creative Services it has rendered for years. However, with the dramatic change to the financial indusstry after the mortgage meltdown that started not long after he entered the industry, Mr. Bennett decided it was best to fall back on what got him going in the first place. Ever changing with the times, EmDeRo eventually scaled back its list of services to just the graphics side of the house. While Mr. Bennett is still very much interested with financial literacy, his personal pursuits have lead him in a different direction more recently, which in effect has moved him away from the financial industry in the professional sense. In keeping with his entrepreneurial spirit, EmDeRo will soon be branching off into clothing and publishing + media services.
